Our Story

Our Belief

That perfect cup of coffee is something special and we believe that perfection can also come in DECAF and HALF CAFF options!

Our Process

We start with sourcing only specialty grade (cup score of 80 and above), organic, chemical free and fairly traded beans! Our decaf beans are decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process (SWP) /Mountain Water Process (MWP). This process removes the caffeine until the beans are 99.9% caffeine-free, while maintaining the bean's distinctive origin and flavor characteristics. Decaffeinated without compromise! Our beans are then roasted, sorted again to remove defects and packaged with tons of love and care. Our process maintains the health benefits of coffee while ensuring every sip delights our customers' taste buds!

Our Focus

To provide great tasting DECAF and HALF CAFF coffee options for pregnant and lactating moms, caffeine sensitive individuals or those who are simply just trying to manage their caffeine consumption!

Our History

The idea of Coffee Llamas came to our Chief Decaf Coffee Connoisseur in a dream. Yes that's right...a dream which shortly became her reality after becoming pregnant and her body suddenly becoming caffeine sensitive. This then led to her search for the finest, most delectable cup of decaf coffee! Over time she and her husband sought out reputable suppliers/farmers, researched and tested various roasting profiles all in the quest to create the best decaf (and half-caff!) options! And once our CDCC found what she was looking for (that perfect cup), she knew she then had to share it with the world! And there you have it- Coffee Llamas was born!

Our Mission

To create a material positive impact on society and the environment by consciously making business decisions about our operations such as purchasing roasting equipment with zero to low emissions, sourcing bio-degradable packaging material when feasible, and working with suppliers/farmers that have similar missions to drive positive impact on society and the environment. We strive to become a B-Corp certified company after our 1st year of operations (a B-Corp requirement).

We are also a proud specialty coffee association member and look forward to bringing change through coffee!
